MySpace counters/countdowns was something I created after seeing the lack of available hit counters/countdowns to use on MySpace profiles. Since MySpace does not allow JavaScript or PHP on there profiles, counters/countdowns must be done with PHP images or flash. I have gone the image route to allow more flexabilty to user.
At this time members can create two types of counters/countdowns. First is a hit counter. This will count how many times your profile has been visited then display it on a image, like the one below. Refresh the page and watch it change!
Second is a date countdown image. You will pick a date of a event in the future. The counter will figure out how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds are left untill that day will arrive. Then display it on a image, like the one below. Refresh the page and watch it change!
Users can choose background colors, text colors, fonts, and even premade backgrounds. I have a few other ideas that may be available shorty. Such as...
- Random messages or quotes image.
- Personalized contact tables (e.g. upload your own image and the script will create a contact table from it).
How does MySpace counters/countdowns work?
Its very simple. Just go to the registration page. Fill out the required info. You will recieve a email with your password and a activation link. Your account must be activated before you can login.
Once your account is activated and you are logged in, navigate to the settings page. From there just fill out the simple form to create your counter. Copy the code and paste it into your MySpace profile. Once the code is in your MySpace profile you never have to copy and paste it again! You will be able to come back here and make changes to it on the fly!
Why Should you Join MySpace counters/countdowns?
The only reason I require registration is to give you the user more options. This way you can always come back and make changes to your counters/countdowns. Also if theres something new or updated I can let you all know quickly and easly.
